The difference between VoIP and PSTN systems

Internet telephony has been around for many years but has recently assumed more prominence and is universally prevalent nowadays. Earlier internet telephony was regarded a weird system that was often found annoying for unclear and distorted for call drops. However, as of now, well implemented VoIP system can provide much improved call quality with reliability like mobile or landline phones.

Phone call uses the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) circuit-switched telephony between two points for the duration of call.
